Guests often ask, "Is there anything to do around here?" and are never prepared for the "Chamber of Commerce" spiel from Bob and me.  We have been coming to the Park for 10+ years and add new sights every year.  Since we are a year round Park, there are always things to do and the opportunities change with the season.

Here are two visits you can make during the late fall/winter season if snow outings aren't what you enjoy.

A trip to the local sculpture garden is a good option. The LIVING MEMORIAL SCULPTURE GARDEN is located on Route 97 approximately 12 miles from Weed (one mile past the A12 turnoff) and is open year round. Heading north on 97, you will see the signs, and the driveway entrance is on your left. This leads to a large parking area and restrooms. The information booth has a brochure about the 10 sculptures and the artist, Dennis Smith. There is the oppurtunity to make a donation to help towards maintenance costs- there are no fees. This is an excellent, professional exhibit, especially for veterans or their families.

The MT. SHASTA BREWING CO. in Weed has been making ales and lagers since 2004 and won numerous awards.  They gained national recognition for the wording on their cap, "Try legal Weed". They have an Ale House and Bistro, which is open at noon (7 days a week) and closes around 6:00 except on Thursday for "Brew-Grass" night when they're open until 10:00.

Turn right at the end of the RV park's driveway onto Black Butte Dr.; then right on Shastina Dr. and follow this under I-5 to S. Weed Blvd, where you will make another right; a block later you will come to College Ave. (at the bank) where you will make a left; the brewery is a block up College, on the left.

I will change these "things to see" periodically, so check our site often.
